Picture Perfect

Early this morning, Walker got his picture made at the Marriott at the Grande Dunes. Our friend, Mollie, who is starting up her own business in photography, wanted to shoot him. Our day started at 8:30 on the beach. I thought this would be a easy, yet eventful morning. Walker started off exploring the sand between his fingers, which eventually then went into his mouth and eyes. Towards the end of the shoot, he was wet, had sand in every crevice of his body and he was still ready for more. Mollie then took his picture around the resort and inside, which was very nice. I cannot wait to see what they look like. Walker did very well for his first ever photo op. Mollie did a great job and I look forward to using her in the future. Once she sends me the pictures, I will try to post a few of them so that you can see how it turned out. Thanks again Mollie!!!

More Pictures From Our Trip....

Down On The Farm

Sorry for the lack of updates. Walker has been a little under the weather the past few days. :-(

The weekend of my brother's birthday (April 11th), Walker and I took a trip up to NC to see my family. I look foward to these road trips and the anticipation of watching my Mama and Daddy stand outside in the driveway, with BIG smiles on their faces, waiting to get there hands on Walker. Everyone was so happy so see him!! After all of the hugs and kisses, Walker got to go ride the tractor with his PaPa. That kept a permanent smile on his face. Afterwards, we had some of my Papa's yummy southern cooking, which is always a treat. Walker was then introduced to our horse, Magic. He seemed to really like him. I was just praying that Walker wouldn't let out one of his loud spastic screams and scare the mess out of Magic! His day didn't end there. Late that afternoon, he got to spend time with Uncle T (my brother, Tanner). Tanner's lab, Shug, wanted to lick his face off, but Walker didn't seem to mind! My brother also demonstrated his skills of turkey calling. Yes, it is turkey season now and Tanner is a fanatic! Maybe one day, Walker will be a seasoned pro too! Now, little Walker also got to spend some QT with his Nana and Aunt Nanny! They get all of his sugar and he just adores them.

We enjoyed our trip and cannot wait to go back. I miss my family so much and would love it if I could see them everyday. Walker's trip to NC was only a taste of what it's like to be a good 'ol country boy!!

The Day Walker Came Into Our Lives

I just thought I would take a look back to the day Walker was born. It was Tuesday, July 31, 2oo7. It seems like it was only yesterday that we were able to welcome our little angel into the world. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for having such a sweet blessing in my life. How did we ever get so lucky?
Early in the morning before heading to the hospital.

Spring Time is Here!!

Do I have a happy little boy or what?!?

Today was yet another beautiful day in Myrtle Beach. I had to take advantage of this weather to get some outside shots of Walker. He loves being outside and feeling the grass between his little toes and fingers. This is what life is all about...spending precious time with the ones you love!

Look What I Can Do....

As you can see...Walker has started saying a few words now and guess which one he says the most? Might I add that he ALSO can say "Ma-Ma"!! :-)

Two Princes

So Fresh, So Clean

We LOVE bath time!!

Welcome to Blogging

Well this is definitely a new experience for me. Hopefully I can catch on quickly so that I can share my family's experiences on raising a little boy we've all come to know as Walker or "Happy" as my Aunt Nanny would call him. So far my time of being a Mommy has been quite a life changing experience. It is strange. You seem to go from your life being all about you and your husband to suddenly centering your life around this little 6 lb 14 oz baby, whom you've just met, but in 5 minutes of meeting him you realize you couldn't imagine living without him. It is so odd how having a baby changes the way you see yourself and others. I see myself now as a provider and caretaker. This new life that we created is now relying on my husband and me to grow and shape him into the man that he will one day become. WOW...that is a lot of responsibility for us!! Over the last eight months, we have really transformed into the "Mommy" and "Daddy" roles. If the next eight months are half as exciting as the past ones, then boy do we have a lot in store for us. Look out everyone, because Mr. Walker is going to give us a run for our money!!!
